Honoring Growth, Expression, and the Power of Abstract Art
A Life Rooted in Family and Creativity
For the past 11 years, Janna has called Maricopa, Arizona home, where she lives with her husband and their three daughters. As a proud wife, mother, and soon-to-be grandmother (due May 2025), her family is a vital source of inspiration and grounding.
Her journey as an artist began early, sparked by her self-taught curiosity and the guidance of schoolteachers who recognized her natural talent. Though her artistic pursuits paused during busy seasons of life, the quiet that came with empty nesting rekindled her creative flame.
The Artistic Journey: From Fluid Art to Mixed Media
Janna’s current work focuses on abstract mixed media, a style that allows her to blend emotion, intuition, and structure into layered, dynamic compositions. Her exploration of fluid art was a pivotal step—one that taught her to embrace flow, release control, and let her work evolve naturally.
“Fluid art taught me that beauty can come from surrender and experimentation. That was a turning point in my journey.” – Janna Blackburn

Inspired by the Landscape
As a Fire Life Safety Account Manager, Janna travels frequently across Arizona, and the diverse scenery deeply influences her work. She draws visual inspiration from urban architecture, bold shadows, and the ever-changing desert sky. These elements show up in her pieces as textural contrast, organic movement, and bold color play.

Art as a Mirror of Strength and Resilience
Janna believes art is more than expression—it’s storytelling. Each piece reflects layers of emotion, strength, and the human experience. She sees her work as a mirror to society and hopes to inspire emerging artists to stay rooted in their truth while allowing themselves room to grow.
“Art has always been a way to process and reflect. It’s a visual story that speaks even when words can’t.”
