1st Place Winner of the Color Play Abstract Art Contest: Christina Spann
We are thrilled to celebrate Christina Spann as the 1st place winner of the Color Play Abstract Art Contest and Online Exhibition!
Christina’s work captivated the jury with its vibrant energy, fluidity, and emotional depth. Her approach to abstract expression is both bold and intuitive—what she calls a “multi-sensory physical dialogue” with her materials. Through layers, erasures, and improvisation, her compositions evoke the spirit of jazz—alive, unpredictable, and deeply felt.
“In making fluid and fiery marks, sometimes using nature as a guidepost,” Christina shares, “my artwork has evolved into abstract emotional expression... It feels musical to me, like jazz; improvising and depicting movement in unexpected directions.”
Her winning piece stood out not only for its masterful use of color but also for its rhythmic dynamism—a visual symphony that resonates with the viewer long after the first glance.
